A Thousand Fold Increase

Memory Verse: "The least of you will become a thousand,

the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly." (Is.60:22, NIV)

Scripture Reading: Is.60:1-22

Every parent expects total obedience from their children and will often reward their children's obedience.

So it is with God, our Father. He expects us (those called by His name) to walk in obedience to His words. This is very necessary if we desire to be blessed.

God's love is unconditional, but His blessings are conditional (See the entire chapter of Deut.28).

In Deut.28:1, Jehovah Elyon, the Blesser said: "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will..." The blessings are been listed.

Also, instances abound in Scriptures where God promised to bring a thousand fold increase to His obedient children that are ready to exercise their faith in Him:

• In Deut.1, He promised to multiply you a thousand fold (v.11).
• In Joshua 23, He promised to help you to put a thousand of your enemies to flight (v.10).
• In Isaiah 60, He promised that a little one will soon become a thousand, and a strong nation (v.22).
• The Bible talks of someone becoming a captain of a thousand (Ex.18:21). 
• By the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Samson used the jaw bone of an ass to kill a thousand of the enemies (Judg.15:16).
• Jesus, our perfect example took one boy's lunch of 5 loaves and two small fishes and He fed 5,000 men with it. So a boy's lunch fed 5,000 men (Matt.14:15-21).
• The women of Israel acknowledged that David by the hand of God upon his life killed the enemies in thousands (1 Sam.18:7).

The reason for citing these biblical instances is simply to stir up your mind so you can also believe God for your own thousand fold increase.

No matter the level you are now, there is always a "next level."

Just as Jesus' mother told them in Jn.2:5, "...Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." I also tell to you too. As you walk in obedience this month, your cloud will start gathering and your rain of blessings will fall in Jesus name. May the God of Heaven multiply you a thousand fold.

Ponder Point: The extent to which you obey God is the extent to which He will bless you.

Action Point: Walk in obedience.

Prayer Point: LORD, baptise me afresh with the spirit of obedience so I can access my thousand fold blessings in Jesus name, Amen.
