The Secret To Living A Focused Life

Image from Google
Memory Verse: "So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it." (2 Cor.5:9, NIV)

Scripture Reading: Lk.2:41-49.

We are naturally attracted to people who exhibit a focused, purposeful, organized and simplified lifestyle.

This is the fundamental attraction of multitudes to the Man, Jesus Christ. There has never been a character who displayed such a strong spirit of personal conviction, purpose, self-awareness, confidence, self-worth, and a sense of destiny as this one Man. The most impacting aspect of His life was His clear sense of priority.

This was Christ's secret to living a focused life. He was a Man given to prioritising His life.

A man given to 'prioritising' like Jesus was will resist every form of seduction. Who remembers Joseph? There are few things harder to resist than a desperate woman that is torn by lust, yet, my mind is captivated by Joseph's experience and testimony- Gen.39:1-13. Joseph's priority was to please God. You could hear it in his voice and see it in his actions.

It is not so much of a question of your conflicting emotions but the value of your priorities. Perhaps your seduction is not of the enticement of a (wo)man's body (or maybe it is), yours could be the rejection of bribe, resisting the urge to repay a wrong, refusal to pervert justice, abuse of office, privilege, anointing, grace or power. Whatever your seduction may be, at the end of it all, your priorities determine your choices. Your action expresses your priorities.

What are your priorities- to please (wo)man, self or God? Your answer may be "to please God," but let's all remember that our actions expresses our priorities.

Now that you know the secret, use it. Begin today. Now. Watch order come into your once scattered and direction-less life.

Ponder Point: Either the absence of priority or misplaced priority, both carry significant consequences.

Action Point: Prioritise your life.

Prayer Point: Father, empower me to live a focused life by helping me set the right priorities for my life even as You terminate the siege of 'directionlessness' in my life in Jesus name, Amen.
