[Spiritual] Environmental Sanitation.

Memory Verse: "Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts." (Col.3:16, AMP)

Scripture Reading: Gal.5:16-21.

I was taught in primary school that cleanliness is next to godliness and my mother enforced the practicality of this statement in our home.

For us it was okay to rush up house chores and environmental cleaning during the week for obvious reasons but Saturdays was our general and thorough cleaning day- we would clean and the house and environment will bear witness that they have been cleaned.

If physical sanitation is that important, how much more spiritual sanitation?

Whatsoever manifests as darkness in the life of a believer will serve as a breeding ground for demonic manipulations and manifestations. The things you allow into your [spiritual] house affects your spiritual environment and ultimately your life.

Things like jesting, too much food, careless talks, watching of spiritually dirty films, worldly music and wrong associations will drain your spiritual energy and this will open the door to anti-heaven environment in the home which will result in struggling and some forms of oppression.

Christian music is defined by James 5:13, Col. 3:16, Eph. 5:19 and the Psalms.

The greater the darkness, the stronger the manipulations and the manifestations and therefore the greater the struggle that particular believer experiences until such a time when the devil now introduces another weapon, lies, to try and convince the person that God is the source of the negative experiences he or she is having. If this lie is accepted then the person is in for more oppression.

Your flesh has no sense of sin, it only has cravings. Every time sin is committed because of yielding to the cravings of the flesh, it is the spirit man that suffers. That is why people often fall into sin over and over because they have not  brought their bodies to subjection as the word of God says should be done, so one would not in the end become a castaway- 1 Cor.9:27.

Like we rush the daily clean up of our physical home and environment during the week, we also [might] rush cleaning our spiritual environment during the week, how about dedicating atleast a day every week for a thorough spiritual environmental sanitation? 

This way, there will be no breeding ground for [spiritual] dirt and filth and most assuredly, we will keep the devils out because our heart (which is our spiritual environment) is clean and habitable for God's Spirit to live in.

Ponder Point: Every time sin is committed because of yielding to the cravings of the flesh, it is the spirit man that suffers.

Action Point: Keep your spiritual environment clean.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive grace for discipline to make my spiritual environment habitable for Your Spirit to dwell, in Jesus name, Amen.
