[It's] Already On The Way

Memory Verse: "Have no cares; but in everything with prayer and praise put your requests before God." (Phil.4:6, BBE)

Scripture Reading: 1 Sam.30:1-31.

David and his men were distraught. Amalekites had raided their camp, capturing their wives and children. The impact was devastating. David's men were so upset that they thought about stoning him. Then, they all "lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep." After this expression of sorrow, David sought God for help. Then, they began to pursue their attackers.

Soon after beginning this pursuit, they met an Egyptian, who was able to lead them to the Amalekites. Equipped with this intelligence, they were able to rescue all their family members.

The interesting thing is realizing that, by the time they began their pursuit, God already had placed that Egyptian in their path. In other words, the answer already was on the way. They just had not seen it unfold.

How easy it can be for us to be like David and his men. Even after we have prayed about a matter, we still have cares concerning the same issue(s), we worry, we become afraid, or we fill our hearts with doubt.

As we pray, we need to commit matters to God, praying until we have peace and assurance. After praying, we need to continue believing, resting in Him, then acting with faith and confidence in God. Even if a resolution does not seem apparent, we must remember His promises. To realize that He is with us, and promises to work everything together for good- Rom.8:28.

By application of the wisdom of today's devotional in your life, I ask that we commit our needs to God in prayer. Let us pray with passion and commitment. Let us speak from our heart to the Lord. Cry out to Him. But then trust Him. Believe that His answer already is prepared. Then, watch as you see how He responds, in His time, and in His way.

Ponder Point: You cannot trust God and be put to shame.

Action Point: Pray. Believe. Expect that your answers are already on the way.

Prayer Point: Father, I commit these issues in my life to you (be specific by listing them to Him). I believe that the answers are already on the way. Deliver me from having cares, entertaining fear, doubt and worry. I choose to trust You in Jesus name, Amen.
