Passion For The Lost (II)

Memory Verse: "And I have other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring and impel those also; and they will listen to My voice and heed My call, and so there will be [they will become] one flock under one Shepherd." (Jn.10:16, AMP)

Scripture Reading: Lk.15:11-32

Our primary assignment here on earth is to partner with the Holy Spirit in bringing sinners out of darkness into light. This should be the believer's goal for living- 2 Cor.5:18-20.

You don't have to be a preacher to fulfil this assignment. All that is required is a heart filled with love for the lost. This love burns in your heart and you are consumed by it so much so that you cannot meet a sinner and leave him the way you met him (except for the children of perdition). You want them to come and also encounter the Light that brought you out of darkness. This love makes you hate their sins and not the sinner. Instead of judging, condemning and giving up on them, you keep pointing them to the Cross. You keep labouring until Christ (the Word) is formed in their heart- Gal.4:19.

The truth is, just like you, "they" equally have a glorious destiny in Christ- Rm.8:29-30. "They" are also members of the spiritual family that you belong to: God being their Father, the Holy Spirit their Mother and ofcourse, Jesus their brother.

The mandate is clear enough and it is found in Acts 1:8: "...ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Daddy is saying, Son, begin in your Jerusalem (your family); daughter, claim your household for Me. When Jesus sees that you are successful in your Jerusalem, He will send you to Judaea. When you are successful in Judaea, doors will be open for you in the city of Samaria and only then will you be ready to conquer the uttermost part for Christ.

But you must first begin in your Jerusalem. Start now!

This is the Word for the moment, receive it by doing what it tells you to do. Take a moment, just a moment and ask the Father to pour out His wisdom upon you for effective Soul-winning strategies on how to capture your own Jerusalem for Christ. Surely, when your Jerusalem has been won over, go further to Judaea, Samaria and finally, to the uttermost part of the earth.

The message is simple: we see the light because it was shown to us. Now, show that light to someone else.

Ponder Point: Soul-winning is the chief business of the Christian minister; it should be the main pursuit of every true believer.

Action Point: Become an addicted soul-winner.

Prayer Point: Father, give me an undying passion for the lost in Jesus name, Amen.
