Trusting God Made Easy (II)

Memory Verse: "Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (Col.2:7, KJV)
Scripture Reading: Eph.3:14-21.

Another reason why you should not sell yourself short on matters of faith is:

  • Any Believer can grow in faith.
It was Bishop David Oyedepo that said and I quote: "Faith has unlimited capacity for growth." Think on that statement of truth for a moment.

Once you trust Jesus as Your Saviour, it's off to the races. You begin a faith journey that never ends. But that does not mean every believer is growing in his or her faith. Just because you can grow doesn't mean you are growing.

One of the characteristics of living things is growth and for anything to grow, that thing must be nurtured. Likewise, the faith of the believer. The Holy Spirit will water your faith with the water of God's word. The more you stay in the word until you are soaked in it, the more your faith muscles will be built up.

However, to keep it growing, you have to use your faith.

The more you act (do the word) on God's instructions as it relates to that need in your life, the stronger your faith muscles becomes because you are exercising it.

Spiritual growth involves God working upon our souls through His word, and we responding to His message with a grateful heart that seeks to do His will.

What parent doesn't love to see a child grow and mature? And God is very pleased to see this happen with His children as well.

Ponder Point: Faith, like muscles, only grows if you use it.

Action Point: Use your faith.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, cause my heart to become a fertile soil for the seed of faith to grow and grant me grace to exercise my faith in Jesus name, Amen.
